I have been begging friends to let me have a try at redecorating their most challenging rooms..and I am quite surprised at how willing and brave they are!! My first assignment is a 7 yr old boy's bedroom redo. He's into ninjas, dinosaurs, and soccer..hhmmm..try to make that work!!!

This is my third and hopefully last attempt at creating a bedroom the I am happy to look at every night and ever morning. So far I am thrilled with the results. The paint color is spot on and I would totally paint my entire house with it. It is still a work in progress, but I will give a sneak peak.
BEFORE:

I've wanted a simple upholstered headboard for sometime. Nothing too feminine or fussy. We found this one at IKEA and it was on sale for $79. I hate the fabric but for that price I couldn't pass it up. So we shoved it into the back of our Subaru between our poor childrens' heads and headed home.

With a few yards of fabric purchased at a local outlet and a good morning with my contentious sewing maching I made a new cover with a piping detail. I bought all the fabric for the pillow online and used an old felted sweater for the green one.
AFTER:

I came across an idea online for a $29 Ikea Rast Dresser that I was totally in love with and used it as a jumping off point for the whole room. Ikea is sold out of the dressers right now which totally stinks because I am itching to do another one for the other side of the bed. I found the lamp at a local thrift store. I was really drawn to the wood detail. With a fresh coat of paint and new lamp shade, i think it looks really cool.

In my never ending quests to redo my dining room and figure out what I want to be when I grow up I present my spray paint wonder...a lamp I found in my basement that was a hand-me-down..with a little spray paint and a lamp shade (also found in the basement) it has a new look and I have a new vocational path as a upcycled homegoods maker.
